About Agnes Cleaning Services
Agnes started out on her own in 2001. She runs the company now and her cleaners do the work.
Cleaning in north-west London since 2001
Agnes has been cleaning homes and blocks of flats in north-west London since 2001. She set the business up herself, she still runs it, and the work has never moved out of the same few areas.
She does not clean every property herself any more. There are cleaners who work for her, and they work the way she works: a written list, the same list every time, and nothing ticked off that has not actually been done. The agents still deal with Agnes herself.
The registered company is Agnes's Cleaning Services Ltd, company number 17454883. Everybody calls it Agnes Cleaning Services, so that is the name we use.
What we take on
We do five things.
On all five, somebody else checks the work. An inventory clerk with a check-in report in front of them. A letting agent who has to hand the keys back. A director of the residents' management company walking round the block on a Saturday morning. That suits us. We would rather be judged than trusted.
- End of tenancy cleaning, for tenants moving out, landlords and letting agents
- Block and communal area cleaning for managing agents, freeholders and RMC or RTM directors
- Deep cleaning, as a one-off
- Carpet cleaning, along with upholstery and mattresses
- After builders cleaning
How a job actually gets done
There is a written checklist for every job and it is the same checklist every time. A studio in Alperton gets the same list of kitchen items as a four-bedroom house in Harrow. The size of the job changes. The standard does not.
You get the same cleaners wherever we can manage it. We do not send whoever is free that morning, and on a block that matters. Someone who walks the same stairwell on every visit knows which door gets scuffed, which bin store fills up first and when the entrance glass was last done properly. Someone new has to learn all of that from scratch.
- The same written checklist on every job, so nothing depends on memory
- The same cleaners on your property or your block wherever we can manage it
- What was cleaned written down at the end of the job, item by item
- Dated photographs on tenancy cleans, and a receipt with the address and date on it, which is a record of how the property was left
If something is not right
It happens. A room gets missed, or one item is not finished to the standard it should be.
On an end of tenancy clean, if the landlord or the letting agent reports a cleaning issue within 72 hours of us finishing, we come back and re-clean the listed items free of charge. Two conditions come with that: the property has to still be unoccupied, and no building or decorating work can have been carried out since we left. Once someone has moved in or a trade has been through, nobody can honestly say whose mess it is.
On a block, tell us and tell us early. A contract that quietly does not get renewed is no use to anybody. We would far rather hear that the stairs on the third floor were missed.
Agents, landlords and managing agents
A lot of our work comes through agents. We have worked with estate agents and letting agents across north-west London for years, and we can put you in touch with some of them so you can ask what we are like to deal with.
Some of the blocks we clean, we have cleaned for a long time. A block contract is never more than a few months from review, and a freeholder or a director who is unhappy simply changes contractor. Those reviews have kept coming round and we are still on the contracts.
Where we work
We are based in Wembley. HA0 and HA9 are the doorstep, and we work out from there across six areas: Wembley, Harrow, Willesden and Cricklewood, Kilburn and Queen's Park, Ealing, and Acton. Within those, that takes in Alperton, Sudbury, Harrow Weald and the streets around them.
If you are not sure whether we come to you, just ask. If a property or a block sits outside the patch we will say so rather than take the booking and try to squeeze it in.
Asking us for a price
Tell us the address, the date and what the job is. For a tenancy clean, how many bedrooms and bathrooms, whether the place is furnished, and whether the oven has had a hard life. For a block, how many floors, what is in the communal areas and how many communal visits a month the block needs.
You get a written quote back with the checklist attached, so you can see every item that is included before you agree to anything.
Ask us for a priceFrequently Asked Questions
How long has Agnes Cleaning Services been going?
Agnes started cleaning in 2001 and has run the business ever since.
Is Agnes still involved in the business?
She runs it. She has cleaners working for her now rather than cleaning every property herself, but it is her company and the agents deal with her.
Can you give references?
Yes. We work with estate agents and managing agents across north-west London and can put you in touch with them so you can ask them directly.
Who turns up at the property?
Our own cleaners, and the same ones on your property or your block wherever the diary allows. We do not send whoever happens to be free that morning.
What happens if the clean is not up to standard?
On an end of tenancy clean, if the landlord or letting agent reports a cleaning issue within 72 hours of us finishing, we return and re-clean the listed items free of charge, provided the property is still unoccupied and no works have been carried out since we left.
Do you clean blocks of flats as well as homes?
Yes. Communal areas in blocks are a large part of what we do: stairs, halls, lifts, entrances and bin stores, on a set rota for managing agents, freeholders and RMC or RTM directors.
What is the registered company name?
Agnes's Cleaning Services Ltd, company number 17454883. We trade as Agnes Cleaning Services.
